Alvin Choong (Rep No CYS200091060)
BSc Business (Hons), AFC, DipFPUpon graduation, Alvin was offered many career opportunities but decided that he wanted to do something “mobile” where he gets to meet lots of people and pursue his interest in wealth management. Alvin is also an avid sportsman besides devoting time to his family. He appreciates the many values gained from sports and these values supports his approach towards business management. Today Alvin derives satisfaction from helping his clients to retire in dignity and make provision for funding their medical services regardless of their financial status.
Esther Teng (Rep No TPK200094237)
BSc Business (Hons), DipFPEsther Teng has been a financial consultant with Great Eastern Financial Advisers Pte Ltd for 10 years. She graduated with a BSc Business Degree and has since joined the industry, serving her clients since. Other than being committed in serving her clients in areas of wealth management, Esther spends a good amount of time on competitive floorball, a sport that she has been playing for 7 years. She believes in keeping fit and leading a healthy lifestyle!
That’s however not all that she believes in. She subscribes to the MDRT whole person concept, where Health, Relationships, Spritual Well Being, Education, Financial, Service and Career are all equally important to contribute to her constant energy, peace of mind, improved productivity and finally a greater sense of fulfillment in what she does, because Life does not merely revolve around the career and the financial success, but the ability to spend quality time with the people who matter, yet put a smile on her client’s faces!

BSSc (Hons.) Political Science, ChFCRaised in a humble family with ethos of thrift and education, he wanted to pay it forward to those around him. Just like countries aiming to increase the standards of living for citizens, he once insisted, good financial advisory helps to allay fears of money woes and sets up good processes to an early and happy retirement! He takes interest in current affairs and social issues, having graduated from NUS with a Political Science degree. An appetite for continuous learning has seen him recently complete the rigorous Chartered Financial Consultant® programme. With the vagaries of the modern world, trust and sincerity are things which he stands firmly by, and most of his clients would agree with his philosophy on service. Alvin has also completed more than five marathons to date, plays tennis regularly and participated in team sports events from time to time. On occasions, he has gone out of his way to serve as a life coach and motivator for some of his clients. After all, he feels that the spiritual side gives you the raison d’être to lead an engaging and fulfilling life.
Chester Chen (Rep No CJC200096408)
BSc Banking & finance, AFCChester joined Graduate Advisory Group in 2009. He is one of the pioneers in the group and has raked up valuable experience in meeting and planning for his clients from different backgrounds. Still active and involved in his national service as a command appointment holder for his police division, Chester believes in being involved with the community and translates that passion to his work as a financial consultant. A firm believer in fair dealing and education as well, he is constantly upgrading himself through courses such as the Chartered Financial Consultant (CHFC). He feels indebted to his clients for the trust, belief and support they have in him. This responsibility is a key factor in his progression in his career and what drives him to achieve more, knowing that he had done well for people he meets and being a positive influence to them and his own associates.

NUS Bsc Economics (Hons), Joint Degree Programme with University of North Carolina. DipFPAs an economic major, June has a keen interest in financial markets, particularly in the aspect of wealth protection and accumulation. In her pursuit of the most suitable career to match her interest, she stumbled upon Graduate Advisory Group. Having had a rough childhood and having to support herself since young, she understands the importance of planning ahead to achieve financial freedom early in life. She also realised that fellow working professionals too are keen to find out how they can safeguard and grow their hard earn money meaningfully. She gains the most satisfaction when her client appreciates the work she has done for them. And she enjoys building meaningful long term relationship with her clients while helping them to realize their dreams.
Chew Wai Loon (Rep No CWL300114250)
BSc Mathematics and StatisticsWailoon was offered positions in banks and management consulting firms upon graduation, but he felt that the corporate way of life was not meant for him. Instead, he was keen on pursuing a career whereby he could dictate his own progression and success. Backed by his interest in Mathematics and personal finance, a career in wealth management seemed inevitable. Through various leadership positions in the sports field, Wailoon is able to transfer relevant skills forward to growing his business while focusing on helping his clients reach their goals. Wailoon enjoys building long term working relationships with all his clients and derives great satisfaction from helping clients take control of their financial future and seeing how it positively impacts upon their lives and lives of their family.
Reena Guo Yuting (Rep No GYX300061176)
B.A(Arch) Hons., AFPUpon graduation from NUS school of Architecture, Reena began her career as a Personal Financial Consultant in OCBC Bank and was quickly promoted. Despite the opportunities lying ahead in her banking career, her desire to be manage her own clients led her to be a Financial Consultant.
A closet film buff, Reena has a secret stash of DVDs with genre ranging from history to mystery. Picking up lessons from some of the films, she learned to better understand the demands of the society and lifestyles of different clients.
David Chen (Rep No. CQD300161661)
BSc Management, AFCPrior to joining this industry, David spent 5 years in SAF serving as a career soldier. Upon witnessing the lack of financial planning knowledge in both the public and private sectors, David took up a business degree and professional courses to learn how he can better help his peers manage their finances. Growing up in a humble family, coupled with the experience of working a wide range of different personalities allows David to fully empathize with people from different walks of life. Today, David is motivated to ensure that his clients and friends have access to ethical and professional financial advisory services. Like the ethos of uniformed personnel, it is his mission to do good for his clients.
Peter Choong (Rep No PCS300128210)
B.Eng Material Science Engineering (Hons), AFCPeter enjoys interacting with people and being able to assist them in their financial planning. He had seen how this has helped his parents first hand and since this is a career that also allows him to help people, he decided to embarked on a career that is different from what he studied. Being an engineer at heart, it allows Peter to see viewpoints from a logical perspective and to dissect problems down to the root so to allow him to be able to plan comprehensively and thoroughly for clients in their given circumstances. His experience as a leader in the Boys’ Brigade had taught him many valuable lessons on service which he applies to his daily work. The highlight of his career has so far had been that he has assisted in the personal legacy planning of one particular business owner who wanted to leave more inheritance to her three children. It brought him technical challenges and job satisfaction that he had always seek in his career.
Jeremy Yeo (Rep No YMY300311029)
DipENGWhen Jeremy was 19 years old, he was hospitalised for a month due to collapsed lungs. The close brush with death itself made him understand the importance of financial planning even at a young age. After graduation, he went to work in a foreign bank but soon realised that he could establish a deeper and meaningful working relationship with his clients as a financial consultant. The only motivation for Jeremy right now every single day, is to reach out to as many people as he can, to share the importance of having a comprehensive portfolio that comprises not just of protection, but also accumulating wealth through different platforms that GEFA has to offer. He never looked back since.

B.Sc (Hons 1) in Biological Sciences (ABP)Winifred enjoys interacting with people and learning about their life experiences. She began her financial planning career while she was an undergraduate in NTU and decided to continue pursuing this rewarding career despite being offered attractive jobs, as she could dictate her own progression and success, and at the same time derive satisfaction from making a difference to her clients’ lives. Through her various leadership positions in sports and student committees, Winifred is also able to transfer relevant skills to this career. Other than committing her time to managing her clients’ financial portfolios, she spends a good amount of time with her family and her interests such as dance, yoga and jamband. Backed by her science background and strong interest in finance since young, she was able to see viewpoints logically and dissect problems thoroughly so as to comprehensively plan for her clients. What drives her to achieve more is knowing that she had done the essentials for people she meets, and being a positive influence to them.

Bachelor of Arts in PsychologyUpon graduating, Val spent his initial years as a counsellor and a basketball coach. He had a passion for interacting with people and finds satisfaction in being able to impact people in their lives. While growing up, Val was always interested in finance and how to put his finances to better use. So when the opportunity came for him to start a career as a financial consultant, the choice was inevitable. Val is able to make good use of his interpersonal skills to understand his clients better; to help impact their lives and also leadership qualities from his sports background to help grow his business as well. Val prides himself upon reliability, and will ensure that his clients are well taken care of and that they lead a life that they deserve. In his free time, Val still contributes back to the basketball community by coaching for his club and school hoping once again that he will be able to impact their lives through basketball.

BSc of Business Studies in MarketingPrior to joining this industry, Waiming was once a representative of Singapore Basketball player. Basketball is the only passion he deemed as. Unfortunately, WaiMing had to put a stop to basketball due to injuries. Upon graduation, He was introduced into financial services industry by his fellow Basketball teammate from Graduate Advisory Group. He knew he had to look for a career that will ignite his passion; constantly challenges him and provides an avenue where his effort will be recognized.
